SMS Terms
1. Program Description
Participating repair facilities may use Repair Explainer to send text messages concerning an existing vehicle-repair, estimate, inspection, or appointment relationship initiated by the recipient. Messages may be sent using automated technology and may include a secure link to a personalized Repair Explainer.
The initial or enrollment-related message or disclosure will identify the participating repair facility and Repair Explainer, describe the repair-related purpose of the messages, and provide or link to applicable information concerning message frequency, message and data rates, STOP, HELP, these SMS Terms, and the Repair Explainer Privacy Policy.
2. Types of Messages
- Repair Explainer and secure-link delivery.
- Estimate, supplement, or repair-plan explanations.
- Appointment, approval, authorization, and documentation requests.
- Repair-stage, milestone, claim-progress, delay, and parts-status updates.
- Vehicle completion and pickup-related information.
- Customer-support, security, preference, and opt-out confirmations.
3. Consent and Participating Repair Facility Instructions
The participating repair facility supplies or confirms the mobile number and directs the message. The repair facility is responsible for providing required notices and obtaining and documenting any authorization or consent required before instructing Repair Explainer to send messages.
By agreeing to receive messages or providing authorization through the participating repair facility’s workflow, you authorize the repair facility and its service providers, including Repair Explainer, to send repair-related text messages to the number provided. Consent to receive text messages is not a condition of purchasing repair services. You may request another available communication method from the participating repair facility. Repair Explainer will always identify the repair facility that supplied the mobile number.
For example:
“Repair Facility Name (via Repair Explainer): Your Repair Explainer is ready — [link]. Reply STOP to opt out, HELP for help.”
4. Message Frequency and Charges
You will typically receive one message per repair, delivering your Repair Explainer; and no more than 5 messages if there are updates to your repair, for example if your repair estimate is updated by insurance, if there is a supplement to your repair, a repair-status-change, or a pickup notice. Message and data rates may apply according to your wireless plan.
5. Opting Out
Reply STOP to an applicable Repair Explainer text to opt out of future automated Repair Explainer text messages sent on behalf of that participating repair facility to that mobile number. Unless the message or enrollment disclosure states a broader scope, the opt-out does not automatically apply to unrelated messages from a different repair facility or to non-Repair Explainer communications sent through a separate program. We may also honor other reasonable revocation requests as required by law.
After an opt-out, you may receive one confirmation message. Opting out of text messages does not cancel the repair, change your obligations to the repair facility, or prevent the repair facility from contacting you through another lawful channel.
Repair Explainer will not attempt to re-enroll an opted-out number unless the recipient provides new authorization. Repair Explainer may maintain suppression records to prevent future unwanted messages.
6. Help and Support
Reply HELP for help or contact [email protected]. For vehicle-specific repair, estimate, billing, timing, or pickup questions, contact the participating repair facility directly.
7. Delivery and Carrier Disclaimer
Wireless carriers are not liable for delayed or undelivered messages. Delivery is not guaranteed and may be affected by carrier filtering, network availability, device settings, invalid or reassigned numbers, third-party outages, or other conditions beyond our control.
8. No Marketing Without Separate Authorization
The Repair Explainer program is intended for repair-related and service communications. Participating repair facilities may not use the program for unrelated advertising or promotional messages unless all legally required notices and separate permissions have been obtained.
9. Privacy
We process mobile numbers, message content, delivery records, replies, opt-outs, suppression records, and secure-link activity as described in the Repair Explainer Privacy Policy.
10. Eligibility and Number Ownership
You must be at least 18 years old or otherwise legally authorized to consent. By providing a number, you represent that you are the subscriber or customary user of the number or are otherwise authorized to provide it.
Notify the participating repair facility if your number changes or is reassigned.
11. Changes or Termination
We may modify, suspend, or discontinue the messaging program or update these SMS Terms. Updated terms become effective when posted or on the stated effective date.
